Students participated in the 2020 Andy Aufschnaiter Memorial Cross Country Ski Race in Blue River. The Bruderschaft, Blue River Elementary School and Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing invited School District 73 students (from Kindergarten to Grade 7) from the North Thompson Valley, including Valemount to the annual Andy Aufschnaiter Memorial cross-country ski race. Board Members Daniela Aufschnaiter and Norm Crerar were on hand to facilitate the event and were honoured to award the winners at the luncheon after the race. Photography by Mikael Kjellstrom
The tradition continued with the gathering of youth in Blue River for the Annual Andy Aufschnaiter Memorial X-Country Ski Race hosted by Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing Resort and The Bruderschaft Friends Blue River Society. Children once again came from all over the North Thompson Valley to compete in the nordic sport and celebrate afterwards with a lunch and medal ceremony. We extend our gratitude to all the parents and school volunteers for helping to make this event special and meaningful to our young athletes

Children from the Clearwater, Barriere, Heffley Creek and Blue River had the opportunity to participate in the Annual Andy Aufschnaiter Memorial X-Country Ski Race. It is a special event for these children to be able to compete in a fun outdoor activity and to be hosted to a lunch and award ceremony at the Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing Resort. The Blue River X-Country trails were the recent focus of significant developments and now offer over 11kms of routes and loops for both the Beginner and Intermediate levels.
Every week during the ski season we gather in the Burderschaft room located in the Guides Haus and celebrate our friendships.
Many people and their families have benefited from the generosity and support of the Bruderschaft Blue River Friends Society.
Since conception in 1996, many people have come to Blue River to heli-ski and have been invited to join the Bruderschaft Friends Blue River Society. Many friendships have been formed since the first ceremonial induction and the many gatherings following.
